Do we need our own clearinghouse?
Usually not. XEHR has a clearinghouse built in for claims, eligibility, claim status and electronic payments with payers nationwide. If you have a clearinghouse contract you must keep, talk to us about connecting it.
Which billing transactions are electronic?
Claims, eligibility checks, claim status, prior authorizations and insurance payments (ERA) all run electronically in XEHR, using the HIPAA standard transactions payers expect.
Do you offer an API?
Yes, for approved apps, using FHIR and SMART on FHIR. Each app is approved by the practice it connects to, limited to what it needs and recorded in the audit trail. Request developer access.
Can XEHR connect to our lab?
Yes. Lab orders and results are exchanged electronically using the HL7 standard, set up for the labs your practice already uses during onboarding.
Can XEHR exchange records with hospitals and HIEs?
Yes, using industry standards (FHIR and C-CDA). The exact method depends on your regional HIE, so we confirm it with you during implementation.
Do you support e-prescribing?
Yes. E-prescribing runs on the Surescripts network through a certified partner, including controlled substances (EPCS), enabled per practice.
Can we connect other systems, like accounting or analytics?
Tell us which system and what you need from it. Reports export from XEHR today, and we confirm any other connection before you sign.
